This photograph was taken by Don Kurek, Detroit's premier photographer.  Inspired by the work of Salvatore Dali, Don Kurek and Mike Caruso worked to achieve a type of "ordered chaos" by contrasting the calm, centered image of the speaker with the surreal elements in the frame.  

Dali's art featured splashing water and flying felines.  Kurek tried using cats, but the cats didn't like it.  Instead, he photographed time-management devices and used digital technology to place them around Caruso.  The lit bulb is also a digital technique and it didn't hurt Mike a bit.
